Timmendorfer Strand & Niendorf

The Baltic seaside resort of Timmendorfer Strand is considered a stylish holiday destination in the southwestern corner of Lübeck Bay. It offers an exceptionally varied range of activities and, together with neighboring Niendorf, is one of the largest holiday centers on the Baltic Sea.
The spa gardens and the promenade, redesigned in the late 1990s and featuring a pedestrian zone, form the center of the town. The pier is a prominent landmark. Hotels, cafés and boutiques line the streets, inviting visitors to stroll and browse.
Just as in the past, the Baltic seaside resort of Timmendorfer Strand remains a popular meeting place for celebrities from the worlds of culture and sport. The Ice Sports and Tennis Center (ETC), home to northern Germany’s largest ice rink, is ideal for an active holiday. Beach volleyball is just as much fun to watch as it is to play, and Timmendorfer Strand has become an international mecca for the sport. There are also no fewer than five golf courses.
The beach stretches for several kilometers northward to neighboring Scharbeutz.
