Dziwnόw (Dievenow)

Today’s Baltic resort of Dziwnόw (Dievenow), including all its districts, stretches for several kilometres along a narrow spit between the Baltic Sea and the Dziwna River (Dievenow), as well as on the mainland. The former fishing settlement of Dievenow has grown into one of Poland’s largest Baltic resorts. The kilometres-long beach on the narrow spit extends on both sides of the Dziwna River’s (Dievenow) mouth into the Baltic Sea. Dziwnόw (Dievenow) is therefore the northwesternmost municipality on the Polish mainland. Today, Dziwnόw is a mecca for water sports, offering opportunities for sailing, surfing and diving, as well as water scooter and motorboat rentals. The harbour is the starting point for numerous regattas, including international ones, and for sightseeing cruises along the coast. Dziwnόw is especially well suited to a family holiday on the Baltic, with plenty of leisure activities for children. A varied promenade runs along the wide strip of dunes. The wide range of activities on offer in Dievenow makes it particularly suitable for an active family holiday on Poland’s Baltic coast.

Districts of the Baltic resort of Dziwnόw (Dievenow)

The municipality of Dziwnόw also includes the Baltic resorts of Międzywodzie (Heidebrink), Dziwnόwek (Wald Dievenow) and Łukęcin (Lüchenthin), which are particularly lively in summer. Międzywodzie, on the island of Wolin, has extensive, attractive beaches. While winters in Międzywodzie are very quiet, the town becomes Poland’s “Côte d’Azur” in summer. Several rehabilitation centres are located here, treating complaints affecting the upper respiratory tract in particular. The district of Dziwnόwek (Klein-Dievenow or Wald-Dievenow) lies on the mainland between the districts of Łukęcin and Dziwnόw, nestled in the coastal forest. Łukęcin, east of Dziwnόwek, has become a centre for Polish scout gatherings. A small 9-hole golf course is located on the edge of this quiet, forest-surrounded resort.
