Ronneby: Culture, Nature and Trails along the Ronnebyån

Ronneby combines sites of cultural and historical significance with nature experiences and water activities. Cultural history in Ronneby Brunnspark

Today, Ronneby Brunn is considered an area of national cultural and historical significance. Several listed buildings are part of this area. At Gamla källan stands the present-day building, which was built in 1845 and is regarded as the oldest surviving well building in Ronneby Brunnspark. Water can still be drawn there today. Kallvattenkuren is a meeting place with an exhibition and a project office.

Guided tours and nature walks take place in Ronneby Brunnspark. In the open workshop at Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall, visitors have access to materials and tools for independent creative work.

A church, art and a historic route

The Heliga Kors kyrka in Ronneby was built between the 12th and 13th centuries. The interior contains paintings from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. These include the oldest depiction, “St. Jörgen och draken”. In 2026, the church is open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00. The church’s construction period and the paintings created later combine medieval architecture with works of art from the three following centuries in the same building.

The “En resa i tiden” route offers several perspectives on Ronneby. It begins at Naturum, runs through the centre to Ronneby harbour and then returns to Ronneby Brunn. For visitors who want to explore the city’s history not just in one place, this route describes a continuous path between Naturum, the centre, the harbour and Brunn. It thereby opens up several perspectives on Ronneby along a single route.

Nature between forest, coast and river

Naturum Blekinge focuses on the nature of Blekinge, from the sea and coast to forests and rivers. In Brunnsskogen, Ekorrestigen is a 1.2-kilometre family trail through the forest to animals and plants.

The Ronnebyån also offers its own way of exploring the area. Canoe and kayak rental is available at two locations along the river. The service includes transport to a freely chosen point on the river. The fixed 1.2-kilometre trail and the freely chosen river point therefore represent two different forms of movement: a clearly defined forest route or a canoe and kayak trip with a variable starting point.
