Marielyst between Beach, Dunes and the Falster Route

A monument on Strandvejen commemorates the storm surge of 1872, which devastated the town and claimed the lives of 80 people. In the wider regional surroundings of Marielyst, there is also Gammelholm, a site considered to be a ruin. The two places represent different historical connections: the monument preserves the memory of a specific event in Marielyst, while Gammelholm, as a ruin site, provides another point of regional connection.

There are also clearly distinct leisure activities in Marielyst away from the beach and dike. The Marielyst Gokart & Paintball Center has an adult track and a children’s track. The Golf & Fun Park in Marielyst has three escape rooms.
