Ryssby kyrka was built of stone in 1749–1750 and replaced a three-storey medieval fortified church from the 12th century. Ryssby kyrka contains a glass church ship by Bertil Vallien. Ryssby Skans was a six-pointed defensive fortification built in 1611. This means that sacred art, medieval fortified architecture and military history can be understood in different forms in the surrounding area.

Cycle Path and Practical Information

For active days, the 9.9-kilometre cycle path between Nyttorp and Rockneby is available; it is part of Kalmarsundsleden. The specific route length makes this section a clearly defined part of travel planning, while the bus connection to Kalmar provides an additional option for connecting with the city centre.
