In Sinettä, snow and ice, sled dogs and the river landscape offer different reasons to include the area in your travel plans. Experiences range from snow and ice sculptures to activities on the ice and husky rides on routes of varying lengths.

Snow, Ice and Winter Experiences

The Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos in Sinettä combines a snow and ice hotel with glass igloos and a 360-degree view of the sky. Detailed snow and ice sculptures, created by local and international artists, are made at the Arctic SnowHotel. Operations are seasonal, and visitor arrangements may change.

Free snow tubing and kick sledding are offered on the ice of Lehtojärvi in the area of the Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos. These winter activities depend on the season and conditions. The location thus combines the viewing of snow and ice art with activities on the ice of Lehtojärvi.

Husky Rides by Route and Program

Huskypoint offers individuals and groups sled dog adventures on forest trails in the Sinettä area. Programs are seasonal. Bearhill Husky offers two routes: a five-kilometre husky ride with a guided kennel tour, and a ten-kilometre tour with drinks by a campfire. The two tours therefore differ both in length and in the features listed. Offers are seasonal and may change; check current tour details before planning.

Getting There and Finding Your Way

The River Landscape of the Sinettäjoki

The Sinettäjoki is the outflow of Sinettäjärvi. It flows through the Sinettäjoki area before joining the Ounasjoki. The waterways can therefore be distinguished in sequence: from the lake, along the Sinettäjoki and on to the Ounasjoki.

More Experiences in the Wider Rovaniemi Destination

The wider Rovaniemi destination offers other types of travel experiences. At Santa Claus Village, visitors can meet Santa Claus every day and cross the Arctic Circle. Santa Claus Reindeer offers year-round reindeer experiences and reindeer sleigh rides there. Check seasonal schedules before booking.

For nature lovers, the Ounasvaara Nature Trail in Rovaniemi is another option. The 4.9-kilometre circular trail is suitable for hiking and Nordic walking and is open from May to October. It leads to a lean-to shelter and a viewpoint with wide-ranging views of Saarenkylä and the Kemijoki. This makes it possible to distinguish a seasonally limited hike in the wider destination from the seasonal snow and ice activities in Sinettä.
