Geographical location

Jarmen is a town in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Culture and history

Visitor attractions include St. Mary's Church and the Old Market Square. The former rural outpatient clinic and the town hall are also among Jarmen's attractions. Jarmen was first documented in 1269 under the name “Germin”. From 1648 to 1720, Jarmen was under Swedish administration before becoming part of Prussia after the Great Northern War.

Jarmen has cultural and sporting facilities as well as an active network of local associations.
