Brenz: Hotels and accommodations

The Lewitz is Germany’s largest contiguous meadow landscape. It is designated as a nature and landscape conservation area and encompasses extensive meadows as well as naturally forested areas.

Nature

The fishponds in the Lewitz form the core of a 1,732-hectare nature reserve. To protect nature, they are closed to visitors.

Visitors to the Lewitz can observe white-tailed eagles, ospreys, kingfishers, great egrets, cranes, and greylag geese. They can also take part in guided ornithological hikes and bike tours with a Lewitz ranger; canoeing and paddling tours are also possible in the Lewitz.

Cycling

Well-developed cycle paths connect Brenz via Spornitz and Parchim in the direction of Plau am See. From Brenz, another cycle route leads through the Lewitz European Bird Sanctuary toward Schwerin; an additional connection from Brenz runs via Neustadt-Glewe toward Ludwigslust.

Culture

The village church of Brenz was built in 1881 by Baurath Krüger on the site of an earlier church building. It is considered to have been preserved structurally in its original condition.

Brenz is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Brenz has a snack bar offering breakfast and lunch. There are also guesthouses and private accommodations for vacationers and guests.
