Zölkow: Hotels and accommodations

Zölkow features a landscape shaped by agricultural use, with small kettle holes embedded in fields and meadows. These small bodies of water contribute to diverse flora and fauna. The Warnow winds through the municipal area; in many places, meadows line its course. Large forested areas surround Zölkow’s fields and meadows and invite visitors to go hiking. Wind energy infrastructure is also part of the landscape character.

Culture and history

The Kladrum village church was built of fieldstone in the second half of the 13th century. Its eastern brick gable features a sevenfold pointed-arch blind arcade. The square west tower has a bulbous dome dating from 1698. The interior furnishings predominantly date from the 18th century. The pulpit altar was built in 1752 by KLINCKMANN from Rostock, while a wooden baptismal font dates from 1650. Older gravestones have been preserved in the churchyard.

Historic Büdnereien in the villages belonging to Zölkow reflect the area’s earlier development. Zölkow is also home to an old forester’s lodge.
