Cölpin is located in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is part of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lakes region.

Nature and Landscape

The municipality is situated in a hilly glacial moraine landscape dominated primarily by arable land. The Linde River runs along the municipality’s southern boundary, while Lake Neetzka limits the municipality to the northeast. The surrounding area also includes Sandberg and Hunnenberg.

Culture and History

The “Cölpin Village Church” is located in the immediate vicinity of Cölpin. “St. George, Neubrandenburg” is situated in the surrounding area. The Blankenburg ruins and the church ruins are located farther afield in the wider region.

Cölpin is home to a manor house built in 1780, designed as an impressive two-storey rendered building. The estate remained the main residence of the Dewitz family until 1945.
