In Rowa, a Gothic fieldstone church stands within a circular enclosure. Its carved altar dates from the 15th century; the central shrine depicts the Coronation of the Virgin. By comparison, Ballwitz draws attention to its construction phases and pews, while Rowa is defined by its fieldstone church and carved work. The two districts thus offer different historical points of interest within the municipality.
Hiking Trails and Getting There
The Castle Hiking Trail from Burg Stargard to Alte Burg Penzlin passes through Holldorf and Ballwitz. The Heiligengrabe–Königsberg stage also follows the road into the village of Holldorf. A section of the same stage passes through Ballwitz to the village church and then continues along a sandy path towards the forest and Zachow. The routes differ: the Castle Hiking Trail passes through both districts, while the other stage also describes a section of the route to Ballwitz Church.
