Tützpatz is a municipality in the northern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The area around the town consists of gently rolling uplands at elevations of approximately 52 to 76 metres above sea level; around Idashof, elevations of approximately 85 to 90 metres are reached.

Nature

Northeast of Tützpatz lies Tützpatz Forest, a larger woodland area. The Goldbach rises near the western municipal boundary, runs through Tützpatz, and continues through the Neue Torfkuhle pond and the former Alte Torfkuhle in the direction of the Tollense.

Geographical location

Tützpatz is located approximately 8.5 kilometres northwest of Altentreptow and about 18 kilometres east of Stavenhagen. Voßbarg is located near Tützpatz. The surrounding area includes Wildberg, Merksberg, Tiergarten Ivenack, Trompeterberg and Boekenbarg.

History

Tützpatz has a historical connection to Pomerania. The wider surrounding region is home to the village churches in Kittendorf and Dahlen.
