Ganzlin: Cycling Routes and Wangeliner Garden

Cycling Route 9 and the nature reserves

The approximately 36 km Cycling Route 9 runs from Ganzlin via Retzow, Quaßlin, Wahlstorf, Darß, Karbow, Vietlübbe, Wangelin and Gnevsdorf, before returning to Ganzlin. Starting and finishing in the same place, it forms a circular route; the place names mark the stops along the way. Its total length and the named places give you a clear point of reference when planning a longer cycle ride as part of your trip.

The route passes two distinct natural areas. It runs almost parallel to the Marienfließ Nature Reserve and offers repeated scenic views of the Gehlsbachtal Nature Reserve. The Gehlsbachtal is considered a feeding ground for grey herons and black storks. The cycle ride thus combines a sequence of place names with recurring views of a protected landscape and a connection to birdlife. Marienfließ is associated with the route’s almost parallel course, while Gehlsbachtal is associated with the views and the feeding ground mentioned above.

In addition to the numbered cycle route, you can explore the country lanes around Buchberg and through Retzower Heide and Marienfließ in Ganzlin. You can do so on foot or by bicycle.
