History

Bröbberow was probably established in the 16th century under the name Preberow. Groß Grenz was first mentioned in a document in 1278, and Klein Grenz in 1283. Groß Grenz is home to a Mecklenburg hall house, including the Doppelbüdnerei, which illustrates traditional regional architecture. The area around Bröbberow also includes the Domäne Bröbberow estate and the historic church in Groß Grenz.

Culture

The nearby Schwaan Art Museum is housed in a restored mill dating from 1790 and features an exhibition of regional artists.
