Kassow is a municipality in the Rostock district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, and includes the localities of Neu Kassow and Werle.

Location and Landscape

The Fuchsberg and Buchenberg hills are located in the vicinity of Kassow. Kassow lies on the eastern bank of the Warnow between the towns of Schwaan and Bützow.

Culture and History

Kassow Manor was first documented as a noble fief in 1593. The surrounding area is also home to Bützow Castle and Güstrow Castle. Further afield in the region are the Groß Raden Open-Air Museum and Dornbusch.
