Hinrichshagen: Hotels and Accommodation

Hinrichshagen is located about three kilometers southwest of Greifswald, directly on the city limits and south of the Ryck. The municipality belongs to the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The B 109 runs through Hinrichshagen as a bypass for Greifswald.

Nature and Landscape

The region of the Landhagen administrative district is characterized by meadows, forests, and its proximity to the Greifswald Bodden. It offers recreational opportunities as well as conditions for relaxation and enjoying nature.

The islands of Streng, Kleiner Werder, and Großer Werder are located in the vicinity of Hinrichshagen. The Burgwall ruins are also nearby.

Culture and History

The church Greifswald, St. Jacobi is located in the immediate vicinity of Hinrichshagen. The churches Greifswald, St. Nikolai Cathedral and Greifswald, St. Spiritus are also located nearby.

Hinrichshagen was first documented in 1248 under the name Henrikeshaghen; the present spelling is first recorded in 1631. The settlement developed through the clearing of forests and the drainage of wetlands belonging to Eldena Abbey. It was the oldest settlement associated with the abbey.
