Beach and coastal paths

The nearby As Vig Beach gives Nebel a clear coastal focus. It is a sandy beach several kilometres long. Directly at the beach, there are toilets, an information board, a bathing jetty, picnic tables and parking facilities. This coastal spot thus combines an open beach landscape with practical amenities for a day at the beach.

The nearby Kyststien Snaptun-Juelsminde is 22 kilometres long and runs along the beach through As Vig. For cyclists, the nearby East Jutland cycle route Kulturringen passes As Vig Beach and continues to Snaptun and Hjarnø. The beach, hiking trail and cycle route thus offer different ways of experiencing the coastal area.

Forest, lakes and nature trails

The nearby Bjerre Skov covers 282 hectares. The area includes mixed forest of deciduous and coniferous trees, lakes, bogs and meadows. An extensive network of paths and several parking facilities on Bjerre Skovvej complement the landscape. In addition, the forest has a mountain bike trail more than 15 kilometres long.

A nearby yellow hiking route is approximately 2 kilometres long and leads through the Søholt Mose natural forest to Elverdam Sø. The lake is also known as Bjerre Skovsø or Bjerge Skovsø. Fishing in Elverdam Sø is free with the national fishing licence. The short route and the longer paths in Bjerre Skov therefore offer clearly distinguishable nature experiences.

History around Palsgaard and Nebel

The nearby historic Palsgaard castle park was expanded to include the 10-hectare Humlegaarden woodland garden. The woodland garden contains winding paths, clearings and a small forest pond. In the surrounding area, the remains of the oldest Palsgaard have been dated to the period 1275–1300. Every summer, the nearby Palsgaard Sommerspil stages a musical on the open-air stage in Palsgaard Slotspark.

The nearby Danmarks Ferguson Museum houses a unique collection on cultural history from 1919 to the present and owns at least one Ferguson tractor from every model year from 1939 to 1970. Visitors can explore old tractors and agricultural equipment there and visit the workshop.

An older settlement from the Roman Imperial period is known in Nebel. The Glud-Rårup-Skjold-Hjarnø Lokalarkiv covers Nebel and other settlements in Rårup Sogn and the Klejs kirkedistrikt in the surrounding area. Sct. Anna Kilde by the church in Rårup is one of the small attractions in the surrounding area.

The nearby As Kirke was built in the second half of the 13th century; the church features restored medieval wall paintings. Guided geological tours are offered along the coast on the nearby Juelsmindehalvøen. They cover geological layers and the various stones found on the beach.
