Lake Sitno has an area of 0.65 km². The lake is rather shallow, has clean water, and is classified as water quality class II.
History and Character of the Village
According to tradition, Sitno was established as a settlement in 1558. Sitno ultimately remained in the possession of the Carthusians. The village name is derived from nearby Lake Sitno; in Kashubian, Sitno is called Šëtno.
Sitno was classified as a place with an agricultural and tourism function.
Lake and Landscape
Swimming is possible at Lake Sitno. The access points are shallow and covered with grass or with sand and grass.
The blue Kartuski Trail runs through the Jar Rzeki Raduni landscape reserve near Sitno.
Water Sports and Horseback Riding
Near Sitno, the Centrum Sportów Wodnych i Promocji Regionu on Złota Góra has a water sports equipment rental service and a sailing school. The center is also located along the more than 24 km-long “Kółko Raduńskie” kayaking route.
The Rutki kayaking landing is located in the immediate vicinity of Sitno (4 km), where canoe trips on the Radunia are offered. Also in the immediate vicinity of Sitno (3.5 km), the stud farm in Borkowo offers riding lessons for children and adults.
