Pałac pod Bocianim Gniazdem is part of a palace and park complex in Runowo dating from the 18th century. The historic site, which is accessible to tourists, offers accommodation and dining; photographs and some finds can be viewed there. The “Grodzisko Runowo” educational trail leads through picturesque forests in the surroundings of Runowo to the “Grodzisko Runowo” nature reserve and combines natural, historical, and educational elements. It is a circular route approximately 3.8 kilometers long, which takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to walk. The educational trail can begin at this site; this extends the route by approximately 2.3 kilometers.
History and Nature
Grodzisko Runowo is an early medieval settlement complex consisting of a fortified settlement, settlement area, and burial mound cemetery, which existed from the middle of the 9th century to the first half of the 12th century. The “Grodzisko Runowo” nature reserve protects beech forests and riparian forests. Stajnia Pałac Runowo is a PZJ-certified equestrian center.
