Blekendorf: Hotels and Accommodations

The Sehlendorf district of Blekendorf is home to nature reserves and protected landscapes alongside the nearly four-kilometre-long Sehlendorf Beach. There, you can try windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and catamaran sailing. The fine sandy beach and shallow water are considered suitable for beginners.

Blekendorf has a motorhome parking area directly on the beach. The town is connected to the road network via the B202 and L258. From April to October, three campsites offer pitches for seasonal campers and holiday guests staying for short periods.

Experiences

Filippos Erlebnisgarten has a farm café serving homemade cakes and gateaux. Seasonal fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, cherries, apples and plums can be picked there yourself. The farm shop sells homemade jams, fruit spreads, preserves, juices, jellies and vinegar. The attraction also includes a pirate raft playground, a giant trampoline, go-karts and a petting zoo.

At the Donkey and Countryside Farm, you can pet and groom the donkeys. The facility is designed to be accessible and has accessible toilets. Free parking spaces are located directly at the attraction; there are also three solar-powered charging stations for electric vehicles.

Culture

The early Gothic fieldstone church in Blekendorf was built between 1230 and 1240. Its 55-metre-high tower is visible from a great distance. Inside are a late Baroque altar dating from 1709 and a wooden baptismal font from the same period. A pulpit bears coats of arms and names associated with the noble Ratlow family.
