Brodersdorf: Hotels and Accommodation

At the roundabout at the entrance to the village stands the Probsteier Koppeltor, a historical model reconstruction referring to Brodersdorf’s traditional designation as the “Gateway to the Probstei”. Straw figures made for the Probstei Grain Days are also displayed there.

Nature

The Brodersdorf Tree Experience Trail introduces 60 different tree species. Information boards explain the tree species, including the structure of their blossoms and uses for their wood or seeds. Other boards provide information about beekeeping and insect pollination in agriculture.

Several old varieties of fruit grow in the Brodersdorf orchard; it also includes a pollinator-friendly wildflower meadow. Beehives stand along the orchard and the circular trail, allowing visitors to observe bee activity on sunny days. Honey can be purchased in Brodersdorf as a souvenir to take home.

A circular hike of around four kilometres leads through Brodersdorf’s fields and into the “Gruppen” woodland near the Hagener Au.

Getting around

Bus services connect Brodersdorf with Kiel and Laboe. Bicycles from the Sprottenflotte can be rented in the village centre.

A parking and rest area on the cycle path from Laboe to Schönberg/Heikendorf has a charging station for e-bikes. The Brodersdorf cycling rest area offers bicycle stands, benches and a picnic table. Free parking spaces next to the rest area allow visitors to start and finish cycling tours through the Probstei in Brodersdorf.

From Brodersdorf, the beach and other municipalities in the Probstei can be reached by bicycle.

Local amenities

Brodersdorf offers private holiday apartments and guest rooms, as well as an opportunity to spend a holiday on a farm. The playground includes a low rope course, climbing equipment, a slide and a picnic area for families to relax.

Culture

Events such as morning get-togethers with live music take place at the village pond.
