Martensrade is located in the Probstei and Selenter See natural region. The village borders Lake Selent to the north and the Gödfeldteich nature reserve to the south.

The municipal Grabensee bathing area on Lake Selent has a jetty, a swimming island and picnic facilities for relaxing, swimming and playing.

History and Culture

The history of the village is closely linked to Wittenberg Estate. Wittenberg was first mentioned in 1299; in 1584, Otto Reventlow acquired the estate. Cultural events take place in Martensrade throughout the year and are open to everyone.

Paths and Connections

A cycle path connects the districts of Martensrade and Wittenberger Passau. Martensrade is located on the B 202; this road provides connections towards Kiel and the Baltic Sea beaches.
