Panker: Hotels and Accommodation

Panker is associated with Baltic Sea views and hiking trails. Gut Panker is a historic estate that has been owned by the Landgraves of Hesse since the 18th century.

Culture

The manor house, chapel, gatehouse and farm buildings of Gut Panker form an expansive courtyard complex. Panker is also home to one of the few completely preserved estate village complexes in Schleswig-Holstein.

The former farm buildings of Gut Panker now house shops and a gallery. Art galleries are part of Panker's appeal to visitors. The Panker stud farm is considered a visitor attraction in Panker.

Concert evenings are held in the historic chapel at Gut Panker. Creative courses in Panker include book printing, woodcut printing and urban sketching.

Landscape

Pilsberg, where Hessenstein stands, is one of the highest elevations in Schleswig-Holstein. Hessenstein is a 20-metre-high observation tower built by Landgrave Friedrich of Hesse in 1839.

In clear weather, Hessenstein offers views across the Baltic Sea as far as Denmark. A circular trail leads past the Trakehner stud farm and the surrounding fields, offering walks with views of Hohwacht Bay.

Getting Around

Cycling tours from Panker to Hohwacht or Lütjenburg are among the options. There are no direct bus connections to Panker.
