Sieseby is an open-access thatched-roof village on the Schlei. The numerous thatched-roof houses reflect the maritime character of the settlement; many bear the initials G.A.S., which are associated with the former owner Gustav Anton Schäffer.

The church in Sieseby was built in the 12th century and combines Romanesque, late Romanesque, and Gothic elements. Its furnishings include a pulpit from the workshop of Gudewerdt, a 12th-century crucifix, and a Marcussen organ. The church and cemetery are listed cultural monuments.

Around the Church and the Schlei

A small pilgrimage trail leads around the church, through the cemetery, and along the Schlei. It offers a self-guided discovery walk in which the townscape, the church site, and the body of water are closely connected.
