Bara offers several ways to enjoy a stay: a family-friendly swimming area, outdoor exercise, disc golf, a cycling tour through the surrounding municipality, and art at the central Värbytorget. When choosing your destination, you can first consider whether swimming, sports activities or cultural connections to the area should shape your stay. The options offer different highlights, making it possible to choose according to your preferred holiday theme.

Swimming: swimming area and facilities

Bara badsjö swimming area is suitable for the whole family. Facilities include an accessible toilet, a ramp into the pools and a shower chair available to borrow. These three features address different practical needs at the swimming area: using the toilet, accessing the pools and having a seat while showering. You can consider in advance which facilities are important for your visit. Seasonal operating details may change; check the latest information before your visit.

Exercise at the activity park

The activity park in Bara has an outdoor gym and a running track. Together, these offer two different forms of exercise: outdoor training and running. If you want to plan some active time, you can choose between the outdoor gym and the running track. The activity park complements the swimming area with a focus on sports, offering a different travel highlight from swimming.

Disc golf: age groups and challenge

Another activity is disc golf. The course is located by the green space at Värby förskola (Bangatan) and is suitable for children, adults and older people. It is considered challenging and is set in beautiful natural surroundings. Its suitability for different age groups and the challenging nature of the course provide different points to consider when choosing between disc golf, the running track and the gym.

Cycling through the surrounding municipality

Cycling is another specific option: the Klågerup–Bara route is a cycling tour through the surrounding municipality. It differs from the exercise options at the activity park and disc golf course; the focus is on a tour through the surrounding area. For those who prefer cycling to running or disc golf, it offers another clearly defined focus for travel planning.

Art at Värbytorget

At Värbytorget in the centre of Bara, the artwork “Juvelen i Bara” lights up the square in the evening. It was created by Lena Ingestam and Carina Zunino, with the participation of bricklayer Patrick Wester. The creators and the bricklayer’s contribution are named, while the evening lighting adds a time-specific highlight. A public bicycle pump is also available at Värbytorget—a practical detail for cyclists using the square as a point of reference.

Bara kyrka as another point of reference

Bara kyrka is located nearby, on elevated ground northeast of Bara. This makes it a different geographical point of reference from the artwork at central Värbytorget: the church is defined by its elevated position and compass direction, while “Juvelen i Bara” is associated with the square illuminated in the evening. For travellers who consider culture and the character of a place when choosing where to stay, these are two different points of reference.
