Mölle

Mölle combines coastal landscapes, hiking trails, swimming opportunities and the history of an early seaside resort. If you are planning a stay with active days, nature experiences and maritime local history, the town offers various options: short routes to Kullen Lighthouse, longer routes via Arild, cliff and pebble beaches, as well as water activities starting from the harbour.

Hiking trails with short and longer options

A hike from Mölle to Kullen Lighthouse is approximately 4 km long. Those who prefer a longer route can continue via Arild and return to Mölle via a detour on a shortcut; this results in a total distance of 16 km. The Skåneleden trail leads from Mölle towards Kullen Lighthouse and thus complements the direct hiking connection with a signposted long-distance trail.

Another option is the Kyrkstigen trail. The trail begins behind Mölle Chapel and follows existing forest paths along the mountain. It is marked in both directions and can be walked in its entirety or in shorter sections. The Kyrkstigen is approximately 8 km long in total; 6 km of this distance covers the section from Mölle Chapel to Arild Chapel. This makes it possible to include different trail lengths in the day's itinerary without mixing up the respective routes.

Nature, cliffs and water at Kullaberg

At Naturum Kullaberg, visitors can find knowledge, inspiration and tips for discovering nature. Naturum is also the starting point for guided tours through the park by land or from the sea. Mölle fälad is considered a recreational area and nature reserve. Nearby, Ransvik is a cliff swimming spot in the Kullaberg nature reserve, slightly north of Mölle. Solvikens badstrand is a rocky beach at the foot of Kullaberg.

Mölle itself also has various swimming spots: a bathing jetty, a cliff beach, a pebble beach and an outdoor swimming pool. For activities on the water, stand-up paddleboarding starts at Mölle harbour and makes it possible to experience the mountain from the water. Kayaks can be rented in Mölle or Arild; in Mölle, they are located in a storage facility behind the restaurant buildings. This means that a stay offers both routes on land and experiences from the water.

Townscape and the history of the seaside resort

Mölle's distinctive townscape was strongly shaped by the early seaside-resort architecture, with hotels, restaurants and summer houses. Around the turn of the 20th century, Mölle was a destination for day trips and a seaside resort with almost 3,000 bathers per year. Mölle Chapel was completed in 1935 and built from Höganäs bricks. It has remained unchanged since it was built. The Höganäs–Mölle railway line opened in 1910 and is therefore also part of the documented history of the town.

In summer, bus 202 runs from Mölle to the car park at the lighthouse on Kullaberg. Depending on the season, this means that both the routes starting in Mölle and this bus connection are available as documented points of reference for specific planning.
