Röstånga: Accommodation at the entrance to Söderåsen National Park
Accommodation in Röstånga
Röstånga in Svalöv Municipality, Skåne, is one of two entrances to Söderåsen National Park. For a stay in a holiday home, holiday apartment or hotel, you can choose between different plans: a loop trail to Odensjön, a look at the landscape of Nackarpsdalen, or a longer hike over an old volcanic hill. Choose your starting point based on the experience you want, not just on a general connection to the national park.

Röstånga or Skäralid as a park entrance?
The two entrances are called Röstånga and Skäralid. The naturum Söderåsen visitor centre is in Skäralid, while a tourist information office is listed at the entrance in Röstånga. These are different visitor points; staying in Röstånga does not mean your accommodation is right next to the naturum.
The municipal tourist information office in Röstånga is open seasonally from Easter to October. It has brochures and offers bicycle rental. These services are part of the information described and are not promised amenities at every holiday home or hotel. Check the relevant opening times if you would like to include bicycle rental in your plans.
Odensjön and Nackarpsdalen
The Odensjö walk starts and ends in Röstånga and leads to the spring-fed lake Odensjön. The lake is surrounded by rocky landslide slopes about 30 metres high, which continue below the water’s surface. The water is clear and cold; the height of the slopes does not indicate the depth of the water.
Odensjön is connected to Nackarpsdalen. Compared with the valley at Skäralid, this valley is rounder and flatter, with open grassland and wooded slopes. These differences can help you choose a destination: the lake and valley offer different landscape impressions from a simple comparison based on their shared name, Söderåsen.
Four kilometres to the first campsite or 27 kilometres in total
The “Vulkanvandring mitt i Skåne” route runs from Röstånga to Frostavallen and is 27 kilometres long in total. The first day’s section is described as four kilometres from Röstånga to the Jällabjär campsite. This section does not replace the full route; conversely, a shorter outing does not automatically need to be planned as the complete 27-kilometre hike.
The nearby Jällabjär Nature Reserve features an old volcanic hill, forest and bush-covered pastures. The Skåneleden SL3 Ås till ås trail reaches it from the national park near Röstånga and continues to Anderstorps eneskog. A campsite along a route is no guarantee of an available overnight spot; check the current conditions for the plans you actually choose.
Plan the church history and journey in detail
The original nave of Röstånga Church is thought to have been built around 1200 or slightly earlier. This tentative dating applies to the original parts and cannot be turned into a confirmed construction year for the entire present-day church. The building’s history offers a cultural focus alongside the nature trails.
For travel by public transport, the official park information lists bus route 518, which serves both entrances. The stops are called Skäralid, nationalparken and Röstånga busstation. Check the relevant departures and compare the actual stop with your accommodation address and chosen route. The national park entrance, bicycle rental and hike are specific planning elements, not services automatically included with your accommodation.
