Trails between Stackedala and Klintabäcken

Tollarp offers three specific themes for active days: trails, swimming and the town’s railway history. The Stackedala recreation area lies immediately south of Tollarp and includes several fitness trails. The trails in Tollarp start at the FK Åsen clubhouse in Stackedala, a clear landmark for finding your way. Conditions on the trails in Stackedala may vary depending on the season. If you want to make outdoor exercise the focus, it is worth looking at the trails there and in the Klintabäcken Nature Reserve separately.

A fitness trail about 7.5 kilometres long runs through the Klintabäcken Nature Reserve and begins in Stackedala. There is also a circular trail of about 2.5 kilometres in the reserve near Tollarp. The circular trail is roughly one-third as long as the fitness trail; both figures give you a concrete basis for choosing the length of your outing. Hiking in the reserve takes you through stands of beech and other broadleaved hardwood trees, including oak, lime and maple. This means you can factor in the character of the natural landscape as well as the distance when planning your route.

Cycle path and railway history

One section is also specifically described for cyclists: the old railway embankment on the cycle path between Tollarp and Kristianstad is fully paved. The railway also shapes the town’s history. After the railway was built in the 1880s, Tollarp developed into a former railway-station community. Relics of that era include a large depot for maintaining rail vehicles and a railway monument. This connection between the town’s development and its preserved railway relics offers a historical perspective alongside the cycle-path section on the paved old railway embankment.

Swimming and local places to eat

Tollarpsbadet adds a swimming option to the trails. The pool is 25 metres long and has a shallow area for play as well as a deep area; it also has a diving tower. This gives the swimming pool a different focus from the nature trails: here, the pool’s length and layout are the main points of reference, while outdoors the focus is on trail length and tree cover. Before visiting, it is worth checking the latest information about the pool.

Tollarp is also home to Tollarps fik och butik, a café and farm shop. Just outside the town, at the foot of Linderödsåsen, is Skogslidens Gårdsbutik. The two locations offer different ways to orient your visit: one business in town that is both a café and a farm shop, and a farm shop just outside town. If you want to include a visit in your day’s plans, check the latest information about the businesses, as service information can change.
