The Basilica and the Town’s Medieval History

The Church of St Thomas the Apostle is a medieval church whose construction began around 1300. The main nave contains a Gothic wall painting from the second half of the 15th century. It depicts Christ on the Cross. The painting is connected with the church’s long construction history, although they do not date from the same period: construction began around 1300, while the painting was created more than a century later.
