Świdwin is a city in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the seat of the municipal and county authorities. Świdwin Castle stands on the left bank of the Rega River in the northwestern part of the Old Town. It was documented as early as before 1317; in 1317, it appeared for the first time in written records.
Culture and aviation
The Jewish cemetery of Świdwin was established in the 19th century and is considered one of the best-preserved Jewish cemeteries in the voivodeship. Every year, Świdwin hosts an airfield picnic at the military airfield, where visitors can see historic aircraft. On Lotników Square, an aircraft monument of the Lim-6M type commemorates the former combat capabilities of the local air base.
