Choszczno lies between the Stobnica River and Lake Klukom in a marshy area. The town belongs to the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland.
History and townscape
The townscape includes a Gothic church and historic buildings dating from the industrial development of the 19th century, including a gasworks and a water tower. The recorded history of Choszczno dates back to the Middle Ages; the first mentions date from the 9th century.
Railway and cycling
Choszczno is located on the main railway line between Szczecin and Poznań. During a municipal cycling event, the route passed through the town’s streets, past the PKP railway station, and then continued onto a cycle path. The event ended at Choszczno’s town beach.

The wider region around Choszczno is home to the “Drawno – Zamek rycerski XIV w.” knight’s castle from the 14th century. Choszczno County encompasses the lake districts of Choszczno, Myślibórz, Ińsko, and Drawsko; Drawno National Park is located within the Gmina of Drawno.
