Wicimice is home to a historic Baroque-Classical parish church dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker. Its origins date back to the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries; it was rebuilt in 1738, the tower dates from 1862, and the interior from the 18th century. The origins of Wicimice date back to the Middle Ages and are associated with the von der Osten family.

Geographical Location

Wicimice is a village in the municipality of Płoty (Płoty gmina), in Gryfice County and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland. The village is located on National Road 6. The municipality of Płoty lies on the Gryfice Plain and the Nowogard Plain.

History and Architectural Heritage

A historic stone enclosure dating from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries has been preserved in Wicimice. The ruins of a two-storey Neo-Renaissance palace built in the 1870s can also be found here, featuring a front avant-corps and a gable bearing the coat of arms of the von Osten family.
