Wielin is considered a small rural settlement surrounded by lush nature on a lake of the same name. The village is located in Poland, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Koszalin County and the municipality of Polanów.
Culture and History
Wielin is home to the historic filial Church of Christ the King, dating from 1698. It was built using half-timbered construction with a shingle roof and features Baroque furnishings. The church was founded in 1689 by the Natzmer family and stands on a hill within the grounds of a historic cemetery.
Inside, the richly ornamented pulpit, patron's gallery and altar are considered examples of folk Baroque. The local cultural heritage also includes a Neo-Baroque palace from the first half of the 19th century and a park with designated natural monuments.
Landscape and Surroundings
Local attractions include recreation on the water and in forests rich in mushrooms. The area around Wielin also includes Krag Zamek, Święta Góra and Czarcia Góra.
