If you want to choose between the beach, forest, water activities and culture during your stay, Sortsø can be explored from several specific perspectives. From the “Overliggeren” location, you can walk through the forest and under the Farø Bridges. From the same location, you can reach Sortsø Strand beach. For walks, two different options can be identified from the location: walking through the forest and under the Farø Bridges, or reaching Sortsø Strand beach.

Maritime views and paths by the water

The maritime side of Sortsø is particularly evident at Sortsø Fritidshavn. From there, you have a direct view of Bogø and the Farø Bridges. The combination of island views and the bridge structure gives your stay a clear connection to the water, without requiring you to commit to a single experience. Those who enjoy observing, taking photographs or simply including a distinctive view in their day’s plans will find a specific subject here with a maritime character.

Canoeing, kayaking and a distinctive headland

For days on the water, the “Falster rundt – Etape 2” canoe and kayak route is a destination in its own right. It is approximately 26 km long. This route goes around the headland near Sortsø. The approximate route length helps you incorporate the water activity into your personal plans and realistically take the scope of such a tour into account. Sortsø therefore appears not only as a destination for a short beach visit, but also as a reference point for a clearly defined canoe and kayak stage.

Sortsø Gab for anglers

Fishing also has a specific focus at Sortsø Gab. From the Sortsø Gab fishing spot, you can reach a channel with a water depth of 20 to 25 m. Sortsø Gab is considered particularly suitable for migrating sea trout. The shoreline structure is also distinctive: at Sortsø Gab, rocks ranging from rubble to large granite stones provide hiding places for amphipods, prawns and small fish. This makes the site tangible for you both through its accessible water depth and through the structures found in the water.

Dolmen site in Sortsø Fredskov

For those interested in culture, the dolmen site at “Langhøj, mv., Sortsø Fredskov (#2)” complements the nature- and water-related destinations. In the middle of the mound, 7.50 m from the south-south-eastern end, there is an open stone chamber running lengthwise through the dolmen site. Its exact position is part of the character of this place and makes the stone chamber a specific destination for visitors who do not want to spend their time in Sortsø exclusively by the water.

Free use of the shelter

The “Overliggeren” shelter cannot be booked and is available for free use. It is therefore important for your planning not to treat it as accommodation that can be reserved.

Travelling between several places

Bus route 35 operates between Stubbekøbing, Sortsø and Nr. Alslev.
