Nostrup between Coast, Nature and History

Nostrup combines a striking coastal landscape with protected natural areas and a dense succession of cultural and historical traces. Klintegården encompasses an approximately 13-hectare coastal area between Røsnæsvej and Kalundborg Fjord. On the southern coast of Røsnæs lies a protected area with 24 hectares of coast, extending from Kongstrup to Nostrup. Paths and Golf

Kildekærgård in Nostrup is now home to Kalundborg Golfklub. The club offers Pay and Play on the first nine holes of its 18-hole course and also has a separate six-hole Par-3 course.

Archaeological Traces in Nostrup

Archaeological excavations east of Røsnæsvej in Nostrup provide evidence of significant settlement in an earlier period and in the subsequent period, the Late Bronze Age. A thin-necked stone axe found by chance in Nostrup is dated to approximately 3,900–3,400 BC. Nostrup Runddysse is a Neolithic burial chamber, or dolmen. For visitors interested in culture, this provides different forms of historical traces: settlement, tool and burial chamber.

More Recent History in Nostrup and Nyrup

In the area of Nostrup and Nyrup, the area was expanded during the final part of the war by four dug-in positions; most of them are still visible today. A camp in the area of Nostrup and Nyrup was used as a listening and radio station. These military traces add a more recent historical layer to the perspective on Nostrup.
