The seaside health resort of Weißenhäuser Strand is located on the south coast of the Hohwacht bay, a part of the Kiel bay. It differs from the other resorts by the fact that it’s the only resort offering only leisure facilities. Together with the unforgettable nature and, first of all, subtropical swimming baths this resort can be truly called an all-year attraction.
The about three kilometers long beach lies far away from the traffic noise behind the eight meter high dunes and is suitable especially for toddlers. This place is a wonderful for the surfers who can not only get the equipment right there but also to finish the training courses as well. Pedal boats, banana boats and catamaran sailings are offered widely here. The resort offers beach volleyball, building sand castles and treasure searching. A new pier invites to a walk near the waves.
In some distance from Weißenhäuser Strand there is the nudists’ beach and a special beach for dog owners only. The Columbus park was originated there as an open-air alternative to the classic swimming-pools.
The seaside health resort Weißenhäuser Strand is situated near the city of Oldenburg in Holstein. There is one place on the Baltic coast which borders with the military training area of Putlos. So together with the disturbing noise, pollution and restrictions for the access and for the use of these waters it can be possible to use this area for temporal living during the holiday.
