Ahlbeck

Between the oldest seaside resort of Świnoujście and the seaside resort of Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck lies as the easternmost of the three “Imperial Spas” on Usedom Island. Like the neighboring resorts, it began welcoming bathers in the mid-19th century.

Ahlbeck has one of the longest continuous streets lined with buildings in the resort architecture style, running parallel to the Ahlbeck–Bansin beach promenade. Many of the hotels along the street display information about prominent guests from politics and culture who once stayed there.

Ahlbeck’s best-known landmark, and a symbol of the entire island of Usedom, is its pier—the only one on Usedom to have retained its historic Gründerzeit-era buildings.
