Ückeritz

From a fishing village on the Achterwasser lagoon of Usedom Island, today’s Baltic Sea resort of Ückeritz has developed into a seaside destination since 1893. The resort’s tourist hub is its 4.5-kilometre-long campsite, which, despite being reduced in size in 1990, remains the largest on Usedom. Even today, the sprawling grounds along the beach are effectively a district of their own. A second nature campsite is located on the Achterwasser near Stagnieß Harbour, which is also a mooring for recreational boats and a departure point for boat trips.
Since 1990, the area around the beach access has been transformed into a little tourist gem. A bandstand, snack bar, holiday apartments and, not least, two restaurants overlooking the sea on the steep shore combine to create a distinctly maritime atmosphere.
Ückeritz is the most heavily wooded seaside resort on Usedom.
