Exploring Scandinavia

The subtitle “The Great Travel Book” more than lives up to its promise. Readers are first introduced to striking images from the four Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. The section “The Most Beautiful Destinations” lovingly describes exactly what travelers to the Nordic countries hope to find. A separate section introduces the countries’ national parks, followed by suggested itineraries. The final map section saves readers from having to buy a road map.

Many lesser-known destinations and regions are also featured.

Denmark also has protected areas of this kind, including the northernmost island of Thy. The national parks in Norway and Sweden are found mainly in the north of Sweden and in coastal or mountainous regions of Norway. In Iceland, Vatnajökull volcano is among the sites featured.
