Nyker is located on Bornholm’s west coast and is a small community on the island. The village is regarded as a quiet, charming place with a family-oriented residential character.
Culture and Local Life
Nyker’s historic round church is considered the village’s greatest attraction and is one of Bornholm’s four round churches. Nyker Brød also links the village to a Bornholm crispbread that is baked according to a traditional recipe at the village’s organic bakery. The local festival featuring community games is called Store Legedag and is held annually.
Nature and Surroundings
The area around Nyker includes nearby lakes as well as a beach in the coastal forest of Blykobbe Plantage. Antoinette is located in the nearby area. Hammershus, Sorte Gryde, Bornholm and Rutskirke are located around Nyker. In the wider regional area are Solomons Kapel, Hullehavn and Bodilskirke.
Routes
Nyker is connected to Rønne via the 5 km-long Nordre Jernbanesti. The route follows the track of a former railway line.
