Vollrathsruhe is located on the southern edge of the Mecklenburg Switzerland region in the Mecklenburg Lake District, between Lake Malchin and Lake Krakow.

The landscape around Vollrathsruhe is hilly, rich in forests, and characterized by numerous lakes. Parts of the municipality are located in Mecklenburg Switzerland and in the Kummerow Lake Nature Park.

History and estate

The historic estate of Vollrathsruhe includes a neobaroque manor house dating from the period after 1920, an approximately two-hectare English landscape park enclosed by a fieldstone wall, and a preserved burial chapel. The estate was established from 1759 by Vollrath Levin II Moltzan and remained an agricultural estate until its expropriation in 1945.
