The settlement center of Zingst lies between the Baltic Sea, the Freesenbruch forest area, the former sea inlet Alte Straminke with the surrounding marshland, and the Zingster Strom.
Geographical Location
Zingst is an officially recognized Baltic Sea spa resort and a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The municipality encompasses almost the entire Zingst Peninsula and includes the offshore islands of Kirr and Barther Oie.

Zingst lies only slightly above sea level and is enclosed by dikes for protection against storm surges. The municipality also includes the wildlife-rich Osterwald forest and the Sundische Wiesen meadows; Pramort is the easternmost point of the peninsula.
