Beach and coast in Zierow
Zierow’s natural beach has a gently sloping entry into the water and a large beach playground. Cycling towards Wismar or Boltenhagen
Destinations along the Baltic coast are also an option for cyclists. From Zierow, the Baltic Coast Cycle Route takes cyclists to the Hanseatic city of Wismar, about seven kilometres away. The Baltic resort of Boltenhagen is 18 kilometres from Zierow along this route. The approximate distance to Wismar and the 18 kilometres to Boltenhagen give you two concrete figures for planning your own tour. If you are choosing between these destinations, you can take the different distances into account.
During the summer months, a “Charge4Bike” charging station is located beside the DLRG lifeguard tower at the beach. Up to four e-bikes and pedelecs can be charged there at the same time. This gives cycling travellers a specific place to charge their bikes; the station is at the beach beside the lifeguard tower.
Town centre and history
The manor house forms the centre of Zierow. The tourist information office and community centre are also located in the town centre. Visitors can get information there about the village, its surroundings and the Northwest Mecklenburg region. All rooms and facilities of the tourist information office and community centre that are available to visitors are accessible without steps.
The small village museum provides information about the history of the municipality of Zierow. Information about the exhibits is provided in writing.
