Dino Park Usedom: Circular Route and Hands-on Activities

Dino Park Usedom offers insights into the development of life on Earth. Along a circular route, it features more than 100 dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. In the main building, children can draw, take part in excavations and explore. A free audio guide complements the tour. The park therefore offers both an outdoor circular route and activities in the main building.

The natural meadows are also part of the park concept: many are deliberately maintained and provide habitats for insects, birds, amphibians and small reptiles. A visit thus combines the themes of prehistoric times and natural areas, without making them the same experience.

Cycling with Different Starting Points

The Wolgast–Mölschow–Trassenheide cycle route passes through Mölschow; a branch leads to Karlshagen and Peenemünde. There are also tours with specific distances and starting points. The 8.5-kilometre circular tour for all ages runs from Trassenheide to Dino Park Mölschow and back to Trassenheide via a cycle path. Tour D is about 15 kilometres long and starts and ends at Mölschow UBB stop.

Distance and starting point are useful distinguishing factors when choosing between these two tours: the shorter tour starts in Trassenheide and leads to the Dino Park, while Tour D starts and ends in Mölschow. When planning, check which route better suits your preferred starting point; the distances alone are not enough to determine walking or cycling times.

Distillery, Tastings and Café

Usedom Distillery & Café is the first pot still distillery on the island of Usedom and produces gin, rum and whisky. Tours followed by tastings are available, but require an appointment by phone in advance. If you would like to plan a visit, arrange your appointment beforehand.

The old Mölschow manor house also has a cafeteria serving coffee and homemade cake, with a large country-style garden. It’s a place to take a break after visiting the distillery. This makes it possible to combine a visit to the distillery with time at the café, while tours and tastings remain subject to an appointment made in advance.

Other Places in the Municipality

There are also a variety of landscapes and leisure activities elsewhere in the municipality of Mölschow, outside the village of the same name. In Bannemin, Bannemin Riding Stables offers riding holidays for children and adults, and for beginners and advanced riders; qualified riding instructors supervise the activities. Indoor arenas with training facilities and a viewing room are available in bad weather. The offerings also include horseback rides and beach gallops along the Baltic Sea at sunset. If you are planning a ride, confirm availability before your trip.

The municipality is also home to the small Zecherin marina, sheltered by the reed belt on the Peenestrom. Small electric boats that do not require a licence can be rented there. Check availability in advance if you are planning to rent a boat. The municipality’s landscape is characterised by flat meadows, fields and quiet villages between the B111 and the Peenestrom, as well as reed-lined shores.
