Sominy: Hotels and Accommodation

Sominy lies on the northern shore of Lake Somińskie and on the edge of Zaborski Landscape Park. The village is also considered Kashubian; its inhabitants continue to use the Kashubian language.

Nature and Landscape

Within the municipality of Gmina Studzienice, Sominy is one of eleven sołectwa. The area of Gmina Studzienice comprises more than 64.5 % forest and 3.4 % lakes. Tourism is one of the municipality’s leading functions.

In the wider region surrounding Sominy are Bytów, with a Gothic Teutonic castle from the 14th and 15th centuries, Siemierzycka Góra, Chełmice, and Białe Góry (Góry Kalwaryjskie). Nowe Slone (200 m) is also located in the surrounding area.

Culture and History

Historical pictorial views of Sominy show a lake and the settlement beside it. The village includes a Kashubian farmstead dating from 1824. It is also home to the wooden Church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, a wooden church from the 18th century.

Cycling Routes

The blue-marked Szlak Wzdłuż Jezior cycling route passes through Sominy and is 17.01 km long. The yellow-marked Anna Łajming Literary Tourist Route also passes through Sominy and is considered a 39.64 km-long cycling route.
