On Lake Blanki, Suryty is a destination for travellers who want to include water activities and cycling when choosing where to go. The lake covers about 440 hectares. Cycling routes pass through Suryty, and a kayak route more than 20 kilometres long runs across the lake. The connection to the lake is also tangible: Warmia Suryty offers holiday cottages in Suryty on a peninsula directly on Lake Blanki. The property has three jetties and a beach.
For cycling, the red-marked municipal cycle route No. 5 covers a total of 32 kilometres. It passes through Lidzbark Warmiński, Łabno, Jarandowo, Kochanówka, Suryty, Blanki, the Ośrodek “Świteź” and Medyny, before returning to Lidzbark Warmiński. Suryty is therefore on the route described; the 32 kilometres refer to the entire route. The places listed give you a clear overview of its course.
Another cycling loop is about 30 kilometres long. It runs through Kraszewo, Jarandowo and Lidzbark Warmiński, then via Medyny, Kłębowo, Lake Symsar and Blanki, returning to Suryty. Among other things, the route descriptions differ in where they end: municipal cycle route No. 5 returns to Lidzbark Warmiński, while the loop of about 30 kilometres returns to Suryty. This difference may help you choose between the two routes.
There is also a clearly described route for a trip on the water. The kayak route, which is more than 20 kilometres long, passes through Lake Blanki and can start at the headland at Blanki. From there, it runs via Lake Symsar and Klutajny to Lidzbark Warmiński. If you are interested in this route, you can include its listed stops and destination in your trip planning. It is clearly different from the cycling routes: rather than describing a loop through several places, it describes a kayak route across several lakes to Lidzbark Warmiński.
For anglers, it is important to know who manages Lake Blanki: the Gospodarstwo Rybacko-Wędkarskie Olsztyn is responsible for it. Fishing permits cannot be purchased online there. This information concerns permits for the lake and should be distinguished from planning a cycling or kayaking trip.
The municipal road to Lidzbark Warmiński offers another point of reference for cyclists. It was renovated in 2011 and also serves as a cycle route. If you want to cycle to Lidzbark Warmiński, you can therefore include this road connection as a cycle route in your plans.
