Wełtyń is located on Lake Wełtyń, a 310.1-hectare lake between moraine hills in a broad glacial trough of the Wełtyń Plain. The landscape of water, historical sites and several cycling routes shape the town and its wider regional surroundings.

Nature

Lake Wełtyń is described as having a varied shoreline and a sandy lakebed. Recreational facilities are mentioned on the western shore; near Wirów to the south, a sandy beach and a bathing area are also reported.
