Chłopy is located on the Baltic Sea and features a beach, a fishing harbour and a pier. The village thus combines coastal scenery and a maritime character with a distinctive historic appearance.

Coast and Landscape

The wide Baltic beach is separated from the built-up area by dunes and a pine forest. Plaża Sarbinowo is located in the immediate vicinity of Chłopy. In the wider regional surroundings of Chłopy are Plaża w Ustroniu Morskim, Sianożęty Plaża and Plaża Dąbki.

Some of the accommodation establishments in Chłopy are located directly on the beach or approximately 100 metres from the sea.

Maritime Character

The waterfront features a fishing harbour, colourful fishing boats and a 90-metre-long pier. The beach is considered to be characterised by a fishing atmosphere associated with the harbour, pier, fishing boats and seagulls; this fishing character is also reflected in views of fishing boats and seagulls around the boats.

Near the fishing harbour, there are fish restaurants serving fresh, fried or smoked fish.

History and Appearance

The entire settlement of Chłopy is listed in the register of historic monuments because of its characteristic historic layout and preserved half-timbered houses. Chłopy is also associated with fishing traditions dating back several hundred years, as well as with well-preserved historic houses.

Paths and Local Connections

The 16th meridian is marked by a stone in Chłopy and lies along a walking and cycling route.
