SÅ‚awsko: Hotels and accommodations

SÅ‚awsko has early medieval origins as a Slavic fortified settlement. The place was first mentioned in written records in 1186; in the 13th century, it was associated with the Knights Hospitaller.

Culture

Historically, SÅ‚awsko was known as Alt Schlawe. After 1945, Stare SÅ‚awno and Stare SÅ‚awsko were used as transitional Polish names. Traces of an old fortification can be found near SÅ‚awsko; such traces have also been recorded in the surrounding area.

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is considered a Late Gothic church. Its tower was added in the second half of the 15th century or the early 16th century, with its completion likewise dated to the late 15th or early 16th century. Medieval polychrome paintings were uncovered during conservation work.

SÅ‚awsko is located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in SÅ‚awno County and the municipality of SÅ‚awno. The place is about 4 kilometers from SÅ‚awno and lies on the road from SÅ‚awno toward Postomino and Ustka.
