Sławno: Hotels and accommodations

Sławno is located on the Wieprza River in the Middle Pomerania region of northwestern Poland. The town is also a railway junction on the Gdańsk–Szczecin route; secondary railway connections lead to Darłowo and Korzybie.

Culture and history

Sławno is historically associated with the medieval brick Brama Koszalińska, also known as the Koszalin Gate. The freestanding brick gate was first mentioned in 1453. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sławno is a Gothic church founded between 1326 and 1364.

Nature and water

Near Sławno, Janiewickie Bagno contains a Baltic-type raised bog at the meeting point of the Reknica and Grabowa river valleys. The Sławno Gmina is located on the Słupsk Plain and includes the Sławieńskie Dęby and Janiewickie Bagno nature reserves.

The Sławno Gmina also includes lake landscapes surrounded by forests and marshland, as well as areas described as ecologically significant for biodiversity. The Wieprza River, which flows through the town and the gmina, is considered suitable for kayaking in the surrounding area.

Cycling

Nearby, the Sławieński Szlak Rowerowy comprises approximately 25 kilometers of roads, tracks, trails and routes adapted for cycling. The route “Path Along the Wieprza River – Lake Łętowskie loop from Sławno” is considered an approximately 43-kilometer, moderately difficult cycling tour.
